What happened in 2010?

In 2010, a powerful earthquake brought Haiti to her knees. It was the worst earthquake since 1770.

Many humanitarian organizations have visited Haiti since the devastating earthquake of 2010 with predetermined solutions that were proven effective in other countries. Their 'ready-made' solutions have provided immediate relief, but many have not helped communities become resilient or self-sustaining.

As such, outsiders have gotten the contracts, but communities have been denied the economic benefit.
